Carla Geronimi is a Swiss artist and filmmaker who creates moving image works that showcase imaginary places, fictional stories and creature-like characters. Her works principally explore dreams, memory and identity with the use of non-coherent storylines and absurd narratives. Also drawn to ideas around uncanniness, anthropomorphism and sensory experiences, Carla draws her inspiration from symbols, myths and inanimate objects.
Her film ‘Escondida’ was the winner of the LABO price at the Festival International du Film de Nancy 2020 and a semi-finalist at the Cefalù Film Festival 2021. ‘La promenade’ was a quarter-finalist at Crossroads International Short Film Festival 2021. ‘Ladon’ was showing as part of Looking Forward Art Projects Screening Room Programme during the month of August 2021.
After graduating from a BA (Hons) in Sound Art & Design at University of the Arts London, she is currently undertaking a MA in Fine Art Media at the Slade School of Fine Art and a Postgraduate Diploma in Location Sound Recording for Film and Television at the National Film and Television School, both in England.
She showed her film “Ladon” at the second Deptford Film Club.
